"Whenever and however you intend to give birth, your experience will impact your emotions, your mind, your body and your spirit for the rest of your life"
~ Ina May Gaskin, American Midwife
As an alumna of Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts, I carry the the mission and philosophy of the college which became instilled in me over 20 years ago with me daily: " to educate the whole person in spirit, mind, and body for leadership in service to others."
In all I do and intend to do over the span of my career, I will lead with my clients' best interest emotionally, physically and spiritually at heart.
As I share more of who I am and of the services I provide over time, it is my hope that you'll begin to see this philosophy come to life.
I do my best thinking, planning and self discovery by the water. This may be when silently watching gallons of water cascade through falls on a New England hike, on a solo walk at the beach, camping along the estuaries of Maine’s mid-coast region or watching my two young sons hunt for crabs. By the water, I am at peace, yet filled with an energy that can carry me through my days and most importantly I am authentically me.
At heart, I am a wife, a daughter, friend, a boy mom, an educator and a perpetual student. I thrive and survive by living life moment to moment and embracing chaos head on. Over the last several years, as I've faced a new level of "hard things" I have come to know myself as a courageous and fiercely driven woman.
Those who love me most and also embrace life moment to moment with me would describe me as a compassionate calming force in the chaos.
In my years spent as an entrepreneur, clients described me as a creative client focused team player. Some of my longest standing employees may tell you they still use my strategies as they handle their day to day work requirements and manage their teams.
In recent years, as I've begun working with children and families in an education setting, my coworkers and parents have come to lean on me as a wealth of knowledge for child development, parenting, sleep concerns, transitioning to solid foods, community resources and poop (l’ll stick to discussing baby’s only)!
I hope after we've worked together, you too will be able to use some of these words and others to describe me not only as your doula; but also as a member of your community.
The Covid-19 pandemic and the world shutting down taught me this and so much more: the importance of allowing our true self to shine through and sharing true vulnerability with those around us is not simply important; it's imperative for our mind, body and spirit.
I'm here, ready and waiting to help you navigate what seems like a vast open sea through the fearful times of conception, the joys and pain of birth or adoption and the further transition to parenting with the newest member of your family.
With gratitude in Spirit, Mind and Body,
Molly (Miss Molly as my littlest loves call me)
